Burleigh Asiatic Pheasants Cereal Bowl, Dia.16cm

A fine piece of pottery with enduring charm, this bowl features a fresh and clean outer with a charming pattern on the inside. A cereal bowl couldn’t be more elegant. Asiatic Pheasants was the most popular pattern of the Victorian era, introduced in 1827. Its romantic gentle blue pattern proved to be more popular than its dark Georgian counterpart Willow. Asiatic Pheasants took pride of place from the kitchen dresser to the dining table. A pattern synonymous with the brand, Burleigh have been making this English design classic since 1862. A celebration of Blue and White, Asiatic Pheasant is created using hand printed and hand applied tissue prints, by skilled artisans who fashion each piece individually. A timeless design in the palest blue, that will bring elegance to any table. Burleigh handcrafts pottery in England using traditional skills that gives its wares a subtlety & individuality that modern methods lack. Established in Staffordshire since 1851, Burleigh is the only pottery in the world to continue the centuries old technique of tissue transfer printing. Taking seven years to master, each piece is hand decorated by Burleigh's’ skilled artisans for you. Every piece of Burleigh ware is made at The Middleport Pottery, its home since 1889. Recently restored by The Prince's Regeneration Trust, one of HRH The Prince of Wales’s Charities, grade II* listed Middleport Pottery was ‘re-opened’ last year by his Royal Highness on one of his frequent visits to the factory. Burleigh is an authentic ‘Heritage Brand’ whose wares are made by hand in a time honoured, unhurried way. We create pottery of unique individuality and charm you will want to bring home. Burleigh is an English tradition, crafted for today.
