Quintic 27 Rucksack

Sized and featured for daylong backcountry ski and snowboard tours, the Quintic 27 delivers efficient, smart organization, versatile carry options, and low centre of gravity that rides comfortably on the uptrack and beautifully on the descent. Made from a high tenacity N420p-HT nylon 6.6 plain weave pack cloth, the rugged Quintic has a teardrop shape that sits low and stable for excellent balance. The design wraps the body, transferring weight around the hips for an amazingly comfortable carry, even fully loaded. The lean contoured back panel keeps the load close to the body for a more stable ride, and a polyethylene framesheet and horizontal acetal rod also help bear the load and direct the weight while allowing flexibility and freedom of movement. Shoulder straps mold to the body, and a lightweight webbing belt helps minimize sway. Skis can be carried diagonally across the back or A-framed on the sides, snowboards ride vertically. The lash straps are designed to easily pull the skis exceptionally tight to the pack for a secure carry and balance while climbing.Arc'teryx refined the Quintic by assembling the gear it would carry and then defining the most efficient access and intuitive organization. The large, hydration compatible main compartment opens at the top for a wide point of entry, and a full length zip on the side provides quick access. The zipped top pocket protects goggles, and another zipped pocket stashes spare parts, snow science kit or other smaller items. A Wingman pocket on the side stows a water bottle, windshell, pair of gloves or snacks, and is accessible while wearing the pack. Organization in the front pocket includes dedicated slots for probe, skins and shovel so they stay right at hand. Padded on the outside to protect gear from impact and carried skis' edges, the outer pocket also keeps wet skins and shovel blades separate from the dry clothes and food stored in the main compartment. A helmet can be easily attached to the front of
