The Osprey Variant 52 Rucksack is a great option when you are facing deep snow, frozen waterfalls, ice fractured mountains and you need to take the kitchen sink.Made from high tenacity nylon, a fabric originally developed for car airbags, the outside of the Variant pack features a double-layered crampon pocket and a quick-fix ice tool holster for the security of your sharp metal. The side ski-loops and wand pockets provide options on carrying your equipment whatever your winter mission requires. The moulded and stiffened EVA back panel sheds snow and is supported by a framesheet and aluminium stay for carrying the heaviest loads. As well as many activity specific features there are also many of the Usual Osprey pack features such as the emergency whistle on the sternum strap, the internal key attachment clip, the side compression straps and the internal hydration sleeve for your hydration bladder.Stripping the pack down for those lightweight trips is quick and easy; the hip belt, lid and frame-sheet are all designed to be removable providing a huge weight saving option should you need it.
